홍콩 영화 유산 아카이빙 전시

홍콩 영화의 역사와 문화를 보존하기 위해 아카이브가 오랜 세월 동안 해온 노력을 보여주는 특별전이 사이완호에 위치한 아카이브에서 개최된다.
전시회에서는 1930년대부터 2000년대까지의 영화 클립 상영과 기증자 인터뷰를 통해 전 세계에서 영화 자료를 수집해 온 아카이브의 노력을 엿볼 수 있다.
또한 전문 복원가들이 사용하는 실제 장비를 전시하고 복원 절차와 그들의 작업에 필요한 기술적 지식을 소개한다. 더불어 두 가지 시뮬레이션 게임을 통해 방문객들은 자료 수집 및 보존 작업을 직접 체험할 수 있는 체험 공간도 마련되어 있다.
1980년대와 1990년대에 홍콩은 영화 제작 강국으로 자리매김하며 "동양의 할리우드"라는 별명을 얻었다. 지난 25년간 홍콩영화자료원은 영화 자료를 수집하고 보존하는 데 힘써 왔으며, 이를 통해 대중은 영화 산업의 황금기를 만끽할 수 있게 되었다.
영화 산업 연구를 위한 데이터베이스로 설립된 이 자료실은 실제 영화 필름과 기타 시청각 자료부터 포스터, 의상, 심지어 제작사의 재무제표에 이르기까지 130만 점이 넘는 자료를 소장하고 있다.
홍콩영화자료원 프로그램 담당 부사서 켄시 라우는 "자료실에서 가장 소중한 소장품 중 하나는 1960년 영화 '오펀(The Orphan)'의 희귀 컬러 필름이다. 이 영화는 이소룡이 미국으로 건너가기 전 홍콩에서 촬영한 마지막 작품이다. 자료실은 1992년 영국 회사로부터 이 필름을 입수하여 홍콩으로 가져왔다.

A special exhibition showcasing the archive's long-standing efforts to preserve the history and culture of Hong Kong cinema is being held at the archive located in Sai Wan Ho.
Through screenings of film clips from the 1930s to the 2000s and interviews with donors, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the archive's efforts to collect film materials from around the world.
It also displays actual equipment used by professional restorers and introduces restoration procedures and the technical knowledge required for their work. Furthermore, an interactive space is provided where visitors can experience the collection and preservation process firsthand through two simulation games.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Hong Kong established itself as a film production powerhouse, earning the nickname "The Hollywood of the East." Over the past 25 years, the Hong Kong Film Archive has dedicated itself to collecting and preserving film materials, enabling the public to enjoy the golden age of the film industry.
Established as a database for the study of the film industry, this archive houses over 1.3 million items, ranging from actual film reels and other audiovisual materials to posters, costumes, and even production company financial statements.
"One of the archive's most prized possessions is a rare color film of the 1960 movie 'The Orphan.' This film was Bruce Lee's last work shot in Hong Kong before he moved to the United States. The archive acquired this film from a British company in 1992 and brought it to Hong Kong."
